She accused radio host David Webb of ‘white privilege.’ Webb is black
Fox Nation host David Webb was accused of playing white privilege to his favor at his own Show and the clip of radio show just broke the internet!
Apparently, CNN analyst Areva Martin was with David Webb at his on his Sirius XM show Tuesday,. She was on Call with the radio host Webb hosted Areva Martin discussing whether a person’s race should factor into hiring decisions. Webb said he has “never considered my color the issue” and relied on his experience to grow professionally in the media world.
Webb said he was offended by the accusation, to say the least, and corrected the CNN analyst Areva Martin right away. Webb believes that skin is just n organ and qualification is the real merit for any privileges. Areva apologized stating that her team misinformed her.
Areva probably googled David Webb which displayed pictures of a White American Jeweller, who owned a company to his name, with prominent clients like Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Barbra Streisand. That David Webb died in 1975 of pancreatic cancer.
Areva Martin really should have researched her facts well before making such a serious accusation, especially keeping her position with CNN in mind. Throwing her team and produce was also not a very smart move either. This embracing situation could have been avoided.
The days of blind hunt are over now and information is easily accessible to those who want. Media is fast and mistakes go viral. In this time and age, people need to be more sensitive towards making any accusations at all and especially around convoluted topics like race, gender, and stigmatization. But that’s just me.
