1. Hamid Mir
Hamid Mir is a Pakistani anchor and writer born in Lahore on 23rd July, 1966. Mir has studied from Government College University and the University of Punjab. Mir joined the daily Jang(Lahore) in 1987 and worked there as sub-editor, reporter, feature writer and edition in charge. He became the editor of the Daily Pakistan in Islamabad, making him the youngest editor of any national Urdu newspaper in the history of Pakistani journalism. He has been working as a journalist with Pakistani newspapers like Jang Group. He has been hosting popular talk show Capital Talk on Geo news since 2002. Mir has been writing columns in Urdu as well as English for local and foreign newspapers. For a long time, Pakistani people have known him as an envelope journalist.
2. Shaheed Arshad Shareef
Arshad Shareef RIP was a Pakistani journalist, news anchor and writer born in Karachi on 22nd February, 1973. He had 5 children. He studied from Ulster University, Quaid e Azam University, Islamabad and Government Gordon Graduate College, Rawalpindi. He joined The News in 1999 and Daily Dawn in 2001. Shareef covered conflicts in the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas(FATA) with a specialization in defence and foreign affairs. Arshad was an expert in investigative journalism. He covered many political events for national and international media. He had security threats in Pakistan, so he flew to Kenya, Africa in 2022. He was continuously reporting against corruption, so he was killed in Kajiado, Kenya on 23rd October, 2022. Actually, he had some evidence regarding corruption against PML-N in his laptop. Right now, his laptop is said to be in the custody of Muraad Saeed of PTI, who is wanted by Pakistani State Agencies. Muraad Saeed along with that laptop, is hidden somewhere. Because Arshad Shareef was martyred while fighting against corruption, he lives in millions of Pakistani hearts.
3. Imran Riaz Khan
Imran Riaz was a Pakistani news anchor and journalist born in Faisalabad, on 14th August, 1975. He is currently working as a popular youtuber. He got his early education from Lahore Grammar School and studied Mass Communication from Punjab University, Lahore. He started his career as a crime reporter for a local newspaper. Later he became a news anchor on Express news channel. As a current affairs host he has also worked with the TV channels GNN, Samaa TV and BOL NEWS. He started his Youtube channel (Imran Riaz Khan) in 2020, which as of October 2022 has more than 3.48 million subscribers. He had been fighting against corruption, his speech against corruption was marvellous. He never spoke in favour of any corrupt person. Somehow, his narrative suited or matched with PTI, a political party in Pakistan. While entering Islamabad Toll Plaza on 5th July 2022, he was driving to the Federal Capital Islamabad to get bail from Islamabad High Court and was arrested by Punjab Police surrounding his car before he could pass out of Punjab jurisdiction, despite being aware of court orders by the Islamabad and Lahore High Courts, and issuances of protective pre-arrest bail grants, intended to avoid an arrest of the journalist. Imran Riaz Khan later uploaded a video on Youtube stating that if he is not released, he will release the names of everyone who is behind the alleged regime change operation in which foreign influence provoked a constitutional crisis, ultimately ending with the PTI Government of Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi being ousted, when the former Prime Minister was removed from office in what he calls an American Conspiracy against the sovereignty of Pakistan. A day before his arrest, Riaz was critical of the Shehbaz Shareef-led government and uploaded a video on Youtube, in which Dawn News said that Imran Riaz Khan directly addressed Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and alleged that he was threatened after asking questions from military sources about the current political and economic situation of Pakistan. Imran Riaz Khan also indicated that his family is the target of threats.On 11th May, 2023, Imran was arrested by Punjab Police while travelling. Later, Punjab Police handed over Imran Riaz Khan to some secret intelligence agency for speaking out against the government and the military establishment. He had been missing for four months. He actually remained in the custody of the agency. After he reappeared, Imran could not speak properly. Somehow, he mentioned that he had been tortured by unknown people. Imran Riaz Khan is currently the most viewed youtuber and journalist by Pakistani people. By the Government and State Agencies of Pakistan, Imran Riaz Khan is considered a revolt. Recently he has escaped from Pakistan. It is being thought that Imran Riaz Khan is in Afghanistan.Currently he is making his news vlogs from there. He escaped with the help of his colleague, senior journalist Javed Chaudhary. Imran Riaz Khan escaped because he had some security threats here. He received threat calls from different unknown numbers. Someone told him that the ones who kidnapped you before, may attack you again. They might kidnap you again, and for longer than before. They may even kill you. Before escaping, he changed his location at three different spots in KPK. He found a tracking device on his car, which he threw in Sawat River.
4. Hassan Nisar
Hassan Nisar is a famous Pakistani journalist, newspaper columnist, news analyst and an Urdu poet, born in Faisalabad on 5th July, 1951. He studied in Government College University, Faisalabad and University of Punjab, Lahore. He started his professional career as a journalist in 1972. Hassan Nisar first married to a script writer and poet Saeeda Hashmi but unfortunately, they divorced. Then he married his 2nd and current wife, Shazia. He has one daughter Mohammadah and two sons, Hasham and Hatam. Hassan Nisar is popular for his style of criticism against corrupt politicians.
5. Waseem Badami
Waseem Badami is a famous TV host and a news anchor currently hosting a talk show named 11th Hour on ARY NEWS. He was born in Karachi on 7th February, 1985. He has a son named Aadil Abbas. Badami studied at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology University. Waseem Badami began his career in the media by providing traffic updates on the radio while he was studying. He then joined Business Plus as a researcher. In 2006, he was selected for ARY NEWS and began his career as journalist and anchor. He hosts Ramadan Transmission Shan e Ramadan along with Syed Iqrar ul Hassan on ARY DIGITAL. Badami also hosts transmissions like Shan e Mustafa(S.A.W.) and Shan e Hussain(A.S.) on ARY DIGITAL. Waseem Badami is also popular for his innocence. Badami is a businessman as well. He opened his own franchise of fragrances, named as WB by Hermani. Worldwide popular nohakhawn Syed Farhan Ali Waris made a partnership with Waseem Badami and opened his franchise of fragrances, named after him, FAW fragrances.
6. Syed Iqrar ul Hassan
Syed Iqrar ul Hassan is a Pakistani TV presenter and a famous journalist who was born in Lahore on 29th May, 1984. He studied from Government College University Lahore. Iqrar ul Hassan has two wives. Firstly he married journalist Qurat ul ain Hassan in 2008 and then secondly he married Farah Yousaf in 2012. He is father to one son. He joined Pakistani Electronic Media in 2006 as a reporter on ARY NEWS. He began his news coverage profession as a newscaster for ARY NEWS. Iqrar has been working with ARY NEWS for many years. Previously he had worked as a newscaster, now he is hosting a programme named Sar e Aam. Iqrar has a countrywide team named Team Sar e Aam. Iqrar many times got injured while fighting against corrupt ones.
7. Matiullah Jan
Matiullah Jan is a senior Pakistani journalist and internet personality born in Islamabad on 10th September 1969. He is best known for his criticism against the military establishment of Pakistan. Due to his criticism of the Military Establishment of Pakistan, he was allegedly threatened many times by security agencies. Matiullah Jan was sacked from Waqt news, where he was working as an anchor. This was due to pressure from security agencies. Currently, he is running his own Youtube channel. He had an interview with EX-DGFIA. In July, 2020, Jan was kidnapped from outside a public school. This school is located in Sector G-6, of Islamabad. He has gone to drop off his wife there who is a teacher. CCTV footage showed that he was forcibly removed from his car and beaten by persons in uniforms as well as in plainclothes. His captors released him 12 hours later. Jan has implicated the security establishment for his kidnapping. On the evening of 27th November 2024, Matiullah Jan, who had been investigating casualties from the 2024 final call protest of PTI,and his colleague Saqib Bashir were abducted by men in black uniforms from the parking lot of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences(PIMS) in Islamabad. They were blindfolded and forced into a vehicle. Hours before his abduction, Jan had appeared on a TV program where he read from what he claimed were hospital records contradicting the denial of the government that live ammunition was used by the security forces or that any protesters were killed during the dispersal. Three hours later, Saqib Bashir was released on a street. Matiullah Jan was subsequently charged with terrorism and possession of narcotics. A First Information Report(FIR) alleged that he was found with 246 grams of methamphetamine at a vehicle checkpoint in E-9 area of Islamabad. The case was registered at 3:20 a.m, nearly one hour after the reported incident. As of November 28, his whereabouts remain unknown, according to another colleague Asad Ali Toor. After his arrest, his son Abdul Razzaq released a video message claiming that his father had been kidnapped by some unidentified individuals. Soon Matiullah Jan was released from Addyala Jail, Rawalpindi.
8. Suhail Sarwar Warraich
Suhail Sarwar Warraich is a Pakistani journalist, TV host, analyst and media personality born in Lakhanwal Khas on 8th November 1961. He studied from University of the Punjab, Lahore. Warraich holds a degree of master in English literature from the University of the Punjab. He has been affiliated with Geo news since its inception and has started his career in journalism through print media in December 1985. His most popular TV programme is Aik Din Geo Kay Sath on Geo news, every Saturday and Sunday. In his programme, he hosts different celebrities of Pakistan. He gives his opinion and analysis on current issues on various news channels.
9. Kashif Abbasi
Kashif Abbasi is a famous Pakistani Journalist, TV talkshow host and anchorperson born in Jhelum on 10th December, 1974. Kashif studied from Barani Institute of Information Technology. Currently, he is hosting a popular talkshow named Off The Record on ARY NEWS. Kashif Abbasi married another female journalist and senior anchor Meher Bukhari in 2011. Currently, the couple is working for ARY NEWS. Kashif Abbasi had been a part of a domestic cricket tournament, Celebrity Premier League.
10. Javed Chaudhary
Javed Chaudhary is a famous Pakistani newspaper columnist, Youtuber and journalist who has been hosting a talkshow named Kal Tak on Express news since 2006. He started journalism in 1991, with work on Daily Ummat and Daily Khabrain. He has been writing Urdu columns since 1997 under the header Zero Point. In 1997, he joined Daily Jang as a columnist. For a long time, Pakistani people have known him as an envelope journalist. He is the son of Chaudhary Muhammad khan. Javed was born on 1st January, 1968 in Lalamusa. In 1991, he studied at Islamia University, Bahawalpur. Later he got education from Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University. Javed Chaudhary also writes Urdu columns in newspapers on various topics in his Zero Point series in Daily Express newspaper. On TV, he works on Express news. He writes in three newspapers that are Daily Express, Daily Jang and Khabrain. In 2023, he received the award Sitara e Imtiaz. One day in his programme Kal Tak, Sher Afzal Khan Marwat of PTI attacked Senator Afnan Khan of PML-N. That clip went viral.
